A Quiet Reflection

Sometimes we don't notice how much we've been carrying until, for a brief moment, we set it down.

Stress has a quiet way of settling into the body. For many of us, it gathers in the shoulders long before it becomes a conscious thought. Hours at a computer, difficult conversations, constant notifications, and rushing from one task to the next gradually teach our bodies to hold tension without us noticing.
Eventually, tension starts to feel normal.

This practice is an invitation to notice—not to fix yourself, but to remember what ease feels like.

“Relaxation isn't something we achieve. It's something we remember.”

Today's Practice

01

Find a comfortable seated or lying position.

02

Take a slow breath in.

03

As you exhale, gently lift your shoulders toward your ears.

04

At the end of the exhale, allow them to soften and fall naturally.

05

Pause briefly before your next breath.

06

Repeat for approximately 20 slow breaths.

What You May Notice

1) Your jaw may begin to soften.

2) Your neck may feel lighter.

3) Your shoulders may naturally settle lower.

4) Your breathing may become slower and calmer.
The goal isn't perfect posture. The goal is awareness.

A Gentle Reminder

Small, intentional movements combined with slow breathing can help interrupt habitual patterns of tension and invite a greater sense of ease. If this exercise causes pain, dizziness, or discomfort, stop and consult a healthcare professional.

Journal Prompt

Where do I usually carry stress before I realize I'm overwhelmed?

What changes when I give my body permission to soften instead of asking it to perform?

Take This With You

Every slow exhale is a quiet conversation with your body:

“You are safe enough to let go—if only for this moment.”
